Terms of Service

These are the terms that govern your use of Ruberis. We’ve kept them short and in plain English. By creating an account or submitting work to a Ruberis class, you accept these terms.

Acceptance

Using Ruberis — whether as a teacher, student, or administrator — means you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service. Schools and districts can request a custom data processing agreement (DPA) by emailing send us a message.

Accounts and access

You’re responsible for keeping your password confidential and for what happens on your account. Let us know right away if you suspect unauthorized access. Accounts are for individual teachers or authorized administrators — don’t share a single account across a department.

Classroom use

Ruberis is designed for K–12 classrooms in the United States. Teachers are responsible for confirming that using an AI grading assistant is allowed under their district or school policies, and for communicating appropriately with students and families.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Ruberis to:

  • Submit content that isn’t the author’s own work.
  • Submit content containing protected health information or data covered by HIPAA.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or probe the service in ways that disrupt other users.
  • Upload content that is unlawful, harassing, or infringes another person’s rights.

We can suspend accounts that violate these rules. We will reach out first when we can.

AI grading disclosures

Ruberis proposes scores using an AI model. Every proposed score is a suggestion until a teacher approves it — no AI-only scores are released to students. The AI can be wrong. Teachers are responsible for reviewing proposed scores before release.

Payments and plans

Paid plans are billed monthly by default. Plans cancel at the end of the current billing period unless you change them first. Refunds for accidental charges are processed within two business days of a request to contact us.

Prices and plan limits are the ones listed on our Pricing page at the time you subscribed.

Your content

You own the rubrics, assignments, and comments you create on Ruberis. You grant Ruberis a limited license to store and process that content for the purpose of operating the service for you. Students own what they write. We do not claim any ownership over student writing.

Warranties and limits

Ruberis is provided as-is. We work hard to keep the service running reliably, but we don’t guarantee uptime or that grading outputs will be free of errors. Our liability for claims related to the service is limited to the amount you paid Ruberis in the twelve months before the claim.

Termination

You can close your account at any time from account settings or by emailing send us a message. We can terminate accounts that repeatedly violate these terms after notice.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes to these terms we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and give teachers a notice in-app at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
